The 1420 Room

July 30th, 2008

De’Vaughn and Yolanda were married at the stylish wedding reception hall, 1420 Room in Dunwoody last month. I met the couples in their rooms at the Ravinia where they got ready. It’s just a 5 minute drive to the 1420 Room where their florist, J Patrick Designs, turned the ballroom into a romantic and elegant setting with calla lilies, candles, white sheers and lighting.  And Monica Jackson of Extraordinaire Affairs & Events made sure the couple had nothing to worry about. De’Vaughn & Yolanda were so cute and funny, serenating each other during their first dance.  I’ve highlighted a few of my favorites below.

The 1420 room with catering by Divine Events is one of the most popular Atlanta wedding reception venues.

A Day at the Mall

July 3rd, 2008

I spent half of June in Delaware for a class & while I was there I drove down to the Capital for some good old fashioned sight-seeing.  I hadn’t been to DC since junior high (except when I was in my college band and marched in the 1997 inaugural parade for President Clinton). I spent almost a full day in the National Mall and another day at Arlington Cemetery.  A short walk from there is Marine Corp Memorial (Iwo Jima statue).  By the way, if you’re in the area, I highly recommend the DC by Foot walking tour. It’s free but your tour guide will surely earn a gracious tip.
