On Feb 2, I attended the 10th Anniversary Party for Atlantabridal.com, Atlanta’s premiere wedding website. This event was held at Le Moulin Rouge, a unique event facility inside antique store, Paris on Ponce.  Catering was by the fabulous Chef Eric. Take a look at the unique Dessert table.  The popular wedding band, Moxie (which also includes a DJ) played a mix of  classic rock & roll, r&b and country music. Wedding vendors are always on the serving side of the party. This was our chance to get loose.

Thelma celebrated her birthday in style by having a party with 300 of her friends from as far away as Nigeria & the UK. The party, held at The Banquet Hall of Jonesboro, was a colorful soiree with all of the ladies in traditional Nigerian dress. It reminded me of a scene from one of my favorite movies, Coming to America. I love the headpieces, or gele, I believe they’re called. It’s the cure to a bad hair day.

I came across this blog post that I wanted to share. A woman admits to stealing from her photographer by scanning photos instead of paying for them. She felt guilty yet continues to do it because she feels entitled to more than what she paid for. The original article has been removed because the website doesn’t want to advocate it. But in comment #45 is a link to her original posting.
As a photographer this is very personal to me and it’s frustrating to read the views of consumers who don’t understand the business. Other photographers have posted our point of view. I understand (yet disagree) with some of the consumers point of views. Hopefully some of them will read the photographers’ responses and understand that point of view.

Okay I’m a little late on this post but I wanted to share some of my favorite photos anyway. I photographed my church’s Mother Daughter Breakfast which was held at the Hilton Atlanta NE (also known as the Castle on the Hill) on Dec 15. Both the pastor and her daughter spoke about nurturing relationships from their point of view. Everyone in the audience had to write why they loved their mother or daughter and what was special about her. It was great to see some of the ladies reaction to what the other wrote. I encourage you to stop right now and hand write your mom or daughter or both a note about why they are so special.

Adamma & Adanne celebrated their 16th birthday in style (think MTV My Super Sweet 16) by cruising along
Stone Mountain lake on the Henry Grady Riverboat. They arrived in style wearing traditional Nigerian clothes then later changed and spent the night dancing away.Â
