This post was inspired from a post on the Weddingbee blog about wedding shoes. I thought I’d show of some of the shoes styles from some past weddings. They range from simple & comfortable to chic and stylish. Most brides still choose satin, strappy wedding shoes but colored shoes (no not dyeable) that can be worn again are becoming more popular. The first pair are mine. They’re not my wedding shoes but I wore them to a recent holiday party. I’m proud of myself because I can’t wear heels ( I’m definetely a Nike running shoe type of gal). But I’d definitely go for the non-traditional wedding shoe.

I love focusing on the emotion & interaction of people at weddings, but there are a few non-people subjects I like to shoot. If you’ve followed my blog for a while you know that one of them are cakes. Well my other favorite subject and feature this month are rings.Â

Browse through this gallery of wedding reception decorations. Email me if you can spot the two photos from different weddings, that were taken at the same venue.

In this new feature, I’ll spotlight one aspect of a wedding and create a gallery focusing on that one aspect. Be sure to check back monthly as I keep adding more images from new weddings to the galleries.
This month it will be cakes! I’ve never been a big cake eater until I started photographing weddings. Week after week I get to sample all different types of cakes. Vanilla with buttercreme icing is the most common but occassionally I’m treated to red velvet, lemon, or carrot cake. And I love white chocolate rasberry filling or icing. If I’m not offered a piece of cake, I’m forced to stop at Publix on my way home. I think Publix has the majority of the market but there are plenty of really good independent cake bakers.
